This song came about as a result of my homey XO, sending me this instrumental from YouTube. He said “I don’t know what you would do to this but you need to do something”. I got in my R & B bag and penned the hook first, and honestly forgot about it all together. During a Who?Session that K.O. was in, that hook came back to me strong, I searched for that beat, she did a verse on the spot as did I and boom Sequel was born. The producer I was unfamiliar with name is Daniel Cruz, we reached out inquiring about purchase options and it turns out, he’s a cool ass dude who wanted to be be in the know about the record. Shoutout to Daniel Cruz, go buy beats from him and shit like that. Any way, we went from Gouda to Sequel, weed and one night stands, to rewind and repeat. Due to K.O.’s generous contribution to this record I personally consider it one of my most complete records, sonically, lyrically, and presentation. I also named it Sequel cause you gone play this one a few times.
